About Catina AdamsCatina is the course coordinator of the Child, Family and Community Nursing course at La Trobe University. She is is undertaking her PhD, researching how Enhanced Maternal and Child Health nurses support women experiencing family violence. Her other special interest is breastfeeding support, having written the Breastfeeding Strategy at Hume City Council, which included establishing the breastfeeding drop-in service. She works in private practice supporting women breastfeeding and parenting.
She offers a caring, down-to-earth and practical approach to early parenting. Her experience and knowledge as a midwife and Maternal and Child Health nurse and being a mother of five enables her to understand the experience of new parenthood. I have supported families in many birthing/parenting settings and from many backgrounds. |
