Birth is a process of becoming: for mothers, families, communities, as well as doulas, midwives, and healthcare systems themselves. At a period of history where intervention rates are at a peak, and a corresponding crisis of birth trauma, how we accompany birth has become more important than ever. This presentation draws on the concepts of care aesthetics and resonance to illustrate how presence, attention and relationality offer opportunity for change through connection.
